It’s right before the season get’s bubbly, popping, and show stopping. Holiday parties will be in full effect before you know it. I do love transitionary periods. Lots of layering. Wonder if this applies outside of fashion? Change of season, change of leaves, change of colors brings a change in focus. Time to sift out, so you can ship in. Here is what to expect for August:
- KNOW THE TRENDS. Nothing dates you more than a suit that was constructed and actually looks like it from the 1980s. Yes..we know you are a classic, but if tailored peplum jackets in wool ( a tailored look) was the trend this season, You’d miss the opportunity to take advantage of this classic trend. Know what the trends are. www.style.com is a great resource…but here a just a few to expect: http://www.refinery29.com/10-fall-2010-trends-from-new-york-fashion-week-1.php I’m excited about velvet..works for my body type. Won’t be doing camel, but for those who look good in a camel color, more fun for you. Trends help you stay relevant, current, and up to date.
- FALL FASHIONS HIT STORES. Pull out the to-buy list you made in February and run to your favorite shops. Can’t wait to see what new goodies Barneys has for Fall. I’m always inspired to work a little extra hard. They narrow selections down to the very best.
- CHECK YOUR CLOSET to see what cold-weather items need new life. Do your boots need resoling? Time for a new coat? Yeah..i know its 112 degrees in Dallas right now, but who would have known last winter we would have 12 inches of snow. I’m ready for whatever suprises mother nature has in store. Bring it on mama!
Don’t wait until its too late to take inventory. The peak of the season is right around the corner and preparation meets opportunity. Get rid of what’s taking up valuable space, clothes do have an expiration date. Enjoy the season…and..can’t think of anything the rhymes with space or date..but you get my drift.
..oh yeah..don’t wait till its too late. lol
